Your Questions, Simple Answers

After an accident, when is belly pain an emergency?

If there is belly pain, swelling, vomiting, dizziness or fainting after an accident or fall, go to hospital at once. Internal bleeding may not show from outside. Call {{PHONE}}

Does a gallbladder stone always need surgery?

Not always. Stones that cause no pain are often just watched. If stones cause pain, vomiting or jaundice, keyhole removal is usually advised.

My appendix pain went away with medicine. Do I still need the operation?

Sometimes, yes. It can come back, and worse. Dr. Sumit will check your reports and advise you.

Can piles turn into cancer?

No. But bleeding can have other causes too. Always get it checked.

Can piles come back after laser treatment?

They can, if constipation continues. Fibre, water and good toilet habits keep them away.

Is surgery safe?

I am scared. Every surgery has some risk, which is why a full check-up comes first. For common planned operations, serious problems are uncommon. Dr. Sumit explains every risk before you decide

What is keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery?

Surgery through 3–4 small cuts using a thin camera. There is usually less pain, a smaller scar and a faster return home.

Where can I meet Dr. Sumit Agrawal?

At 5 hospitals in Siliguri: Anandaloke, Maharaja Agrasen,
Thalamus, Maxwell (emergency on call) and the BSF Composite Hospital (for BSF families). See the timings above.
